Business Development – Aerospace Manager

Description:
The BD Aerospace Manager acts very much as an ambassador for the company. It is important to foster and maintain a strong relationship with our customers. We are ideally looking for someone with both technical and sales skills to be able to understand customer needs/requirements in order to identify and assist in the qualification of sales opportunities.

Position within organisation:
The job holder reports to the Sales & Business Development Director.

Missions and responsibilities:

In this role the BD Aerospace Manager will:
- Understand customer mission, customer organization, operational environment and priorities,
- Look for new business opportunities by developing relationships between customers key stakeholders and the group Export Units
- Broaden customer understanding of the group solutions in connection with their missions,
- Work in connection with Marketing in order to define and establish a strategy for conquering markets, in terms of product/market positioning, promotion initiatives, pricing policy and partnerships,
- Influence customers in expressing their needs and operational concepts,
- Develop and implement of a capture plan for each identified business opportunity,
- Ensures all business development activities are aligned with the Export Units,
- Maintain the business development forecast,
- Undertake allocated Key Account Management accountabilities and responsibilities
- Support the sales forces during the upstream opportunity phase, up to the designation of a capture leader;
- Propose promotion plans including group events with stake holders, exhibitions, demonstration, marketing documents and product roadmap fitting with time to market. He/She ensures achievement of the plan together with China communication department, China sales, marketing and BL.
- Actively contributes to the preparation of Strategic Business Plan by assessing market size and early detection of programs

The position is not a sale and marketing position, but depending upon circumstances, the jobholder may take the responsibility of capture team leader, may contribute to the offers and will be incentivized on a volume of business that he will have generated.
Desired profile :
Requirements:

Education: university degree, ideally a technical degree;

Technical Experience: understand concepts of operation, capable to translate appropriate technical language into high level requirements.

Background: at least 15 years working experiences in aerospace business development, sales, marketing or management.

Soft skills and behaviours: capable to develop empathy with his counterparts, convincing and understanding of business development tactics. Achieve clear reporting, take initiatives to improve visibility of the group and of its solutions.

Deliver adequate reporting to the management.

Language: Chinese mother tong, English fluent, French would be a plus.
